Binance will be holding initial coin offerings (ICOs) on the firm’s token sale platform Launchpad nearly every month in 2019. TRON’s BitTorrent and Fetch.ai are two of the ICOs slated to be offered in 2019.

French Parliament Rejects Crypto-Friendly Tax Changes

In France, several proposed changes to the laws governing the tax treatment of cryptocurrencies were rejected in the parliament on December 17th. The proposals would have made the tax treatment for transacting in cryptocurrencies more advantageous. The decision comes a week after two French lawmakers released a report advocating for the investment of hundreds of millions of public money in blockchain technology.

Bakkt Delays Launch As Crypto Markets Crash to New 2018 Lows

Bakkt, the cryptocurrency trading platform created by financial industry giant Intercontinental Exchange, announced on November 20th that it has delayed its launch of Bitcoin (BTC) futures trading to January. The news comes as prices of cryptocurrencies are crashing across the board and hitting new 2018 lows.

BitMEX CEO Responds to Claims of Impropriety

BitPay to Settle Bitcoin Payments to New Stablecoins

Crypto payment processor BitPay has announced it will be allowing settlements in two new stablecoins: Gemini Dollars and Circle’s USD Coin. The move allows merchants to avoid the volatility of Bitcoin without having to convert to fiat.
